Els Club Vilamoura set to headline 2026 Vilamoura Pro-Am

 Following a spectacular debut that saw 84 players from 17 countries take on three of the Algarve’s most iconic courses, the Vilamoura Pro-Am is scheduled to return for a second edition in 2026.

Set to be hosted from 2^nd to 6^th February, next year’s Vilamoura Pro-Am will elevate the tournament to new heights with rounds scheduled to take place at the highly anticipated Els Club Vilamoura, as well as the prestigious Old Course Vilamoura and Pinhal Vilamoura.

The Els Club Vilamoura, soon to be the first private members’ club in the Algarve, will open in July 2025, offering an exceptional playing experience, alongside an exclusive clubhouse and premium guest services, redefining the standard of golf in the region.

The iconic Old Course also remains one of the most sought-after golfing destinations, celebrated for both its rich heritage and modern enhancements. Recent renovations such as the integration of cutting-edge TrackMan technology on the driving range, and an upgraded clubhouse have further elevated the guest experience, reinforcing its status among Portugal’s premier courses and offering players a world-class challenge in a truly unforgettable setting.

Participants in 2026 can expect an immersive experience both on and off the course. The week will be packed with social events, including a welcome reception, a dinner and drinks party, and a gala dinner to celebrate the tournament’s conclusion.

Golf Professionals and amateurs are now encouraged to register their interest for next year’s event. Players will be able to either enter their own team of four containing a professional or take up the option to play as an individual and be assigned a team.

'Vilamoura Golf' represents an unparalled collection of courses that have been rebranded from Dom Pedro, including the iconic Old Course, the second oldest course in the Algarve and a hallmark of the region’s golf heritage. DETAILS and US planning experts Next Practice Partners collaborate on visionary project in the refined Vilamoura resort

A stunning new state-of-the-art sports centre will be the latest jewel added to the crown of leisure facilities enjoyed by visitors to Vilamoura in the Algarve, Portugal. DETAILS, the management company which oversees all Arrow Global’s hospitality and sporting assets in the elegant area of Vilamoura, beside the Mediterranean coast, has announced a partnership with US-based agency Next Practice Partners (NPP) on the ambitious project. Dom Pedro Golf Vilamoura aces Portugal’s golf resort of the year award

 

 

Dom Pedro Golf Vilamoura has secured its first recognition since DETAILS took over its management, winning Golf Resort of the Year in Portugal at the 2024 IAGTO (International Association of Golf Travel Operators) awards.

The win reinforces the committed work the hospitality, sports, and leisure management company has undertaken across the Dom Pedro Golf & Hotels Collection portfolio in Vilamoura since its acquisition by Arrow Global last year.

A total of 660 golf tour operators worldwide voted for their best golf courses, resorts, and destinations which delivered outstanding service to their clients, with the Algarve resort holding off a challenge from several of Portugal’s most established golf properties.

DETAILS has set its sights on confirming Dom Pedro Golf Vilamoura as one of Europe’s finest leisure resorts, aiming to reposition it among the industry’s elite. Significant developments are currently in progress across the wider Dom Pedro portfolio in Vilamoura.

Designed by Frank Pennink, the Old Course, which is the second oldest in Portugal, has already undergone significant change in a bid to attract premium golfers to the tee boxes of this esteemed golf destination.

Vuelven los golfistas a los campos del Algarve

En un paso progresivo los campos de golf en el Algarve, votados como el destino de golf favorito del mundo 2020 por la industria del turismo de golf, han vuelto a abrir sus puertas.
Desde el 4 de mayo, una franja de tierra esmeralda en el Algarve ha estado proporcionando una vez más el hábitat natural para que los golfistas entusiastas experimenten lo que tanto han perdido durante el encierro de Covid-19.
